What is the objective of CRY America’s ’My Vision and Dream for Children’ campaign/event?
- The theme of the campaign is ‘My Vision and Dream for Children’ and all entries must focus on this theme for the national MVC Contest.
- A campaign that enables individuals in the USA to discuss & express their vision
/dream of a just world for children through paintings/drawings, poems, short
films, essays, photographs/photo-essays, statements/slogans.

From where (Geography) can I participate?
- The MVC Contest is open to all individuals residing in the USA from the age-group of 10 years and above – each entry must belong to an individual.
- The contest is open to USA residents only - from all the 48 states, including the District of Columbia, excluding Hawaii and Alaska.
- Entries submitted by groups & teams will not qualify for the MVC Contest.

Duration of the Event
- April 15, 2010 to October 15, 2010 - for receiving/collecting entries. Please note that October 15, 2010 will be the last date for receiving entries on the CRY America website
for this national campaign/contest.
- October 15, 2010 to November 15, 2010 - judging and selecting/announcing national contest/event winners.

Event Categories
- All entries must be original - entries that are imitation of or copied from any other individual/organization/company/institute/business
house/book/website is considered invalid.
- Event Entries must be as per the following 6 categories only:
Painting/Drawing
,Poems
,Essay
,Slogan/ Statement
,Photograph/Photo-Essay
and
Short Film
.
- Please refer to the table below for details of the categories and uploading rules
to ensure eligibility of your entry.
- Each entry (online & offline) needs to be submitted along with a signed MVC

Qualifying Age Groups
- Juniors: 10 - 13 years
- Teens: 14 - 17 years
- Adults: 18 years and above

Rules applicable to Children’s Entries (10 to 17 years)
- Juniors (10 to 13 years)
- All Junior entries require parental consent
- All registration/entry forms (online and offline) for Juniors need to be approved
and signed by a parent/legal guardian of the child.
- We seek minimum information about your child, limited to what is essential for this
event – child’s name, age, city of residence and event category
- All event related activities (registration, uploading, setting up “my event page”
etc) to be undertaken by the parent on behalf of the child
- Teens (14 to 17 years)
- All Teen entries also require parental consent
- All registration/entry forms (online and offline) for Teens need to be approved
and signed by a parent/legal guardian of the child
- We seek minimum information about your child, limited to what is essential for this
event – child’s name, age, city of residence and event category

How do I register for the event?
- All entries must belong to an individual. Please note that entries submitted by groups will not quality for the MVC contest
- Online, through the CRY America website
- Offline, through our Volunteer Action Centers
for City based events.
- Every event registrant will get a unique username and password after you register
for the event.
- Every event registrant will get a “Manage my profile”
page where you can view your past entries and upload new entries.
- Every event registration will also have the option of setting up a “My Event Page”
for the event - please fill in the information about where you heard about this event,
so we can make the right linkages between your page and your friends page.
- The entry/registration form has an “opt in” field through which you can choose to
receive regular CRY America newsletters, reports, appeals and other material – please
tick this option if you would like to receive regular mailings from CRY America.

How do I Upload my Entry?
- Event registrants can upload their entry at the time of registration or come back
later using this username and password to upload at a later date
- Please see table below for the format in which the entries require to be uploaded,
following this format will ensure eligibility of your entry.
- Your entry needs to be accompanied by a “Title” and a 20 words description. In case
there is no title given by you for your entry, the generic default title “My Vision
and Dream for Children” will reflect against your entry.

Can I set up "My Event Page" for my friends to view my entry?
Sure – each event registrant can set up his/her own event page which can have the
following:
- Your personal message about the My Vision for Children Campaign
- Your vision for children and your entry for the event
- You can send out emails from this page to your friends/ colleagues/ family – inviting
them to view your entry and join the event too!

Can I link "My Event Page" to my Facebook or other social networking pages?
Yes – help us spread the word about this campaign through your social networking
platforms!
- We have provided a badge entitled "Express Your Dream for Children" on
the right column of your page and on the home page which you can place on your Facebook
or other social networking forums.
- The "Express Your Dream for Children" badge and e-banner can also be placed
under your signature on your emails.
- We have links to Facebook and Twitter already set
up for you! The CRY America Blog is another great way to discuss children's issues
and spread the MVC campaign!

My Vision Event Viewing Gallery
- All eligible entries for the My Vision for Children Campaign will be available for
public viewing on the CRY America website
- Event entries can be sorted and viewed by Event Category, by Age Group and by Geography
- All winning entries will be specially displayed and acknowledged on the
CRY America website after the judging process has been completed in September, 2010. Winning entries will also become part of the MVC Event Archives and will be available for viewing year on year.

Suggested Donation
We appreciate all donations raised through this event which will be directed towards
supporting the cause of underprivileged children in India and the USA. All donations
received through this event will be eligible for tax exemption. There are no mandatory
Registration Fees for this event. Thank you for your donation and we truly value
your support.

Offline Events and Entries (via Events organized by CRY America’s Volunteer Action
Centers only)
- A listing of all My Vision/Dream for Children Campaign Events being organized by
our Volunteer Action Centers across the USA can be found
here. Please note that some of our Volunteer Action Centers are only serving
as campaign promotion and collection centers for the entries, while others are organizing
local events and will be announcing local winners.
- All Offline MVC entries also need to be accompanied with an MVC event registration form
which is available with our Action Centers and can also be found
here
- Following the Action Center event – all eligible offline entries will be uploaded
on to the CRY America website by your Action Center and will become an integral
part of the national My Vision for Children Campaign/Contest. Your permission to
do this is requested in the Offline MVC event registration form.
- Our Volunteer Action Centers will announce event winners for their respective events.

Selection Process (Event Winners)
- Judges Panels
- The composition and selection of judges of the Judges panel will be at the discretion
of CRY America.
- All Judges panels will comprise of 3 Judges (judges across the online & offline
events may be different) – but the same selection/judging criteria will be used
across all judges panels.
- Judging will be done as per event category & age group.
- Local Volunteer Action Center Events/City/State winners will be selected by the
local judges panel.
- Scores - each entry/ material will have an assigned score by the Judges panel.
- Scores will be recorded & maintained for all eligible event entries (online and
offline entries).
- Selection of winners for the offline and online event will be based on scores assigned
by the event judges.
- Decisions on event winners (local and national) will be final and at the discretion
of the Judges panels & CRY America.
- Event Winners
- Each category will have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prize – this will again be differentiated
by the 3 age groups.
- National winners – therefore, there will be a total of
54 (i.e. 6 categories
X 3 age groups) prize winners nationally
for this event, if we receive entries across all categories and age groups.
- Local winners will also be announced for the local events by our Volunteer Action
Centers.

Selection/Judging Criteria (Winning Material)
- The Selection/judging criteria that will be used for each category is specified
in the table above. The same
Selection/judging criteria will be used by judges panels at the national and local
levels
- The specifics for each selection criteria are given below
- Originality: Freshness of style and presentation of the idea. How distinguishable
the entry is from the others in the same category/ age group.
- Innovativeness/Creativity: Ability to link the theme with new, imaginative ideas
and perspectives. Ability to see and solve problems relating to children’s issues
and rights in a new way.
- Clarity of theme: Direct & comprehensive expression of the theme.
- Concept/Design relates to the theme of the contest: The material should go beyond
merely discussing/ presenting the existing injustices faced by children to envisioning
and presenting some solutions/actions towards a better situation for children. This
criteria would give weightage to the depth of the message. Higher scores will be
assigned to entries that inspire or compel viewers to act/ work for positive change.
- Attractiveness/Eye-catching (for paintings/photographs): Entry is visually attractive
and thought provoking.
- Further, each category has an additional criteria related to word limit, time limit,
slides limit etc - see category & eligibility table above for details.
- In the event that CRY America receives more than 500 entries for this Campaign,
there will be a second and final round of Judging to select the winners from up
to the top 20 entries with the highest scores in each Category/Age Group. The top
3 winners of each Category/Age Group will be decided through the final round of
judging.
- In the event that a tie breaker is required in the judging process to arrive at
the winners – the entry with the highest score on the specific selection/judging
criteria “Concept/Design of the Entry relates to the theme of the Contest”
will be declared the winner.

Award Winning Prizes & special recognition for winners
- There will be no cash rewards/prizes for this event (online or offline).
- National Winners
Prizes/ awards to national winners will comprise the following:
- National Prizes: If entries are received for all event Categories and from all Age
groups, the total number of winners will be 54 (6
event categories X 3 age groups X 3 prizes).
- National winners will receive special CRY America “Child Rights Champion” Award
Certificates
- All winning entries/ material will be displayed on the
CRY America Website which is visited by over 25,000 visitors each month. The
winners name will be displayed along with the winning material.
- All winning entries/ material will be acknowledged and recognized through the CRY
America Newsletter which goes out to over 10,000 CRY America volunteers, donors
and contacts in the USA.
- Select Winning material will be placed in a CRY America Publication along with the winner‘s name. The selection of material
to be placed in this publication will be final and at the sole discretion of CRY
America.
- Local Action Center Event Winners
Prizes/Awards for events conducted by CRY America Action Centers will comprise the
following:
- Action Center event winners will receive awards in the form of an award certificate
or cup or medal – the decision on the exact form of the awards will be decided by
the Volunteer Action Center conducting the specific event.
- Local event winners will also receive invitations to events organized by CRY America’s
Volunteer Action Center in your city.
- Gifts that our Volunteer Action Centers may be able to source or get sponsored –
this may differ from Action Center to Action Center and will be dependent on what
the Action Center is able to source.

Eligibility of Entries
- All entries must be original - they cannot be an imitation of or copied from any
other organization/ company/ institute/ business house/ individual/website.
- All original material against entries submitted for this contest must be retained
by the event registrant (owner of the material) for the entire duration of this
contest as it may be required to be submitted to the Judges Panel and/or CRY America
at any time.
- All entries must be created by and belong to the individual who submits the entry. In the case of children,
the entry is to be submitted by a parent or legal
guardian of the child. Entries submitted by groups and teams will not be eligible for this event.
- Parental approval and authorization is required for all entries related to children. Any entry related to children without
parental authorization/approval will not be eligible for this event.
- All Entries must focus on the theme of this event "My Vision/Dream for Children" and meet the selection criteria as specified in the
table above. Entries that do not follow the uploading directions and formats as given in the table above will not be considered
as eligible entries.
- Any person found to be tampering with the content of this event or damaging the
spirit of this contest will be disqualified. If any material is found to be offensive
to any other person, community or children, CRY America reserves the right to remove
the material from it‘s website and from the Offline events organized by its
Volunteer Action Centers. This decision will be final and at the sole discretion
of CRY America.
- The CRY America board, staff and volunteers closely involved in organizing and executing
the My Vision for Children Campaign, along with the event judges and respective
family members are not eligible to be event participants.

Terms of Use
LICENSE, RELEASE and WAIVER ("RELEASE")
For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency and receipt of which are
hereby acknowledged, I authorize CRY, Child Rights and You America Inc (CRY
America), to make use of the written content, images, video, and/or any other
materials submitted hereunder, as well as my name, voice, likeness, and
appearance therein, together with the personally identifying information I may
provide on the connection therewith (collectively, Submission), as further
described below. CRY America's Right to Use My Video
Submission. I grant CRY America the right to
edit my Submission in any manner, and to use and license others to use my
Submission, or any portions, reproductions or versions thereof in any and all
media, now known or hereafter invented (including, without limitation,
television, home video/dvd, merchandising, publishing, online and mobile
services), in any manner, an unlimited number of times, in perpetuity,
throughout the world, with or without charge or cost to end users or other third
parties. I also grant CRY America the right to use and license others to use my
Submission for promotion, publicity and/or marketing of CRY America or in any
other manner as determined by CRY America.
Clearance of My Video Submission for CRY America's
Use. I represent and warrant that my Submission is my original work
and that I have secured any and all rights, releases and permissions necessary
for CRY America's use of the Submission hereunder, including without limitation
those related to any people, places, music, performances of dance or music,
video, photographs, graphics and/or other elements in my Submission
(collectively, "Elements"). I represent and warrant that no further permissions
or fees are due for CRY America's use of my Submission or any Elements therein.
I further represent and warrant that any statements made by me or others in the
Submission are true to the best of my knowledge and that neither they, nor any
Element of the Submission, will violate any law or regulation violate or
infringe upon the rights of any third party.
Waiver of Right of Approval. I hereby
waive any right of inspection or approval of my Submission as used by CRY
America, including without limitation any approval of my appearance and/or use
of my name therewith or the uses to which they may be put.
Release and Waiver; Indemnification
I acknowledge that CRY America will rely on this Release, potentially at
substantial cost to it, and I hereby waive the right to assert any claim of any
nature whatsoever against any party relating to the exercise of the rights and
permissions granted hereunder. I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless
CRY America from any and all claims arising from its use of my Submission as
permitted hereunder.

Miscellaneous
By participating, entrants agree:
[a] to these terms of this contest and decisions of CRY America and the judges,
which shall be final in all respects relating to the contest; and
[b] to release, discharge and hold harmless CRY America from any and all injuries,
liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from their participating in
the contest or their acceptance, use or misuse of a prize including, without limitation,
personal injury, death and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights,
copyright, trademark, defamation or invasion of privacy.
Entrants agree to permit CRY America to use his or her name, photograph, likeness,
entry, biographical information, voice, voice likeness, and city and state address
for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in all media, including but
not limited to within CRY America's website, in perpetuity, without compensation
(unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use upon
request.
CRY America is not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
[a] any electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer
malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation,
server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries;
[b] failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions;
[c] late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries ; or
[d] any condition caused by events beyond the control of the CRY America that may
cause the contest to be disrupted or corrupted.
CRY America reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify
or suspend the contest or any portion thereof, and limit entries to those submitted
prior to the action taken, or to proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair
and equitable by CRY America in its sole discretion and to award the prize from
all eligible entries received prior to such action taking place.
