Walk for Child Rights 2008

Type of event: Fundraising Sports

That’s how far you can travel by walking a few miles in your city in the US!
CRY America is delighted to present its annual fundraising event - Walk for Child Rights 2008.
By participating in this walk, you can support millions of marginalized children in India, living miles away from you. Like in District Latur, a deprived region in Maharashtra, where children have to walk for more than 3 miles everyday, just to reach their schools.

Come, be a part of this unique opportunity to create lasting change in the lives of these children.

CRY America Walk 2008 kickstarted in Bay Area on June 15th at the Shoreline Park in Mountain View. Bharath Sundararaman, CRY America Bay Area volunteer, describes the exciting day: "400 people, 22 teams, 40 children and 4 different walk/run events: the walk event was a dream come true! This event stood apart in its own right for one big reason - the spotlight was on the Children.  They competed in the race, participated in all the fun activities, volunteered for the raffle, kept our face painting and balloon-walas busy and reminded us of our very goal - to give the gift of childhood to underprivileged children, irrespective of caste, creed, race or religion..to stand up for child rights!"
