CRY America Walk 2007

We thank all the action centers for making the CRY America Walk 2007 a stupendous success!

Detroit Action Center organized its first Walk event on October 20 at the Heritage Park in Farmington Hills , Michigan . 30 people walked in support of child rights and $2000 was raised in pledges. We had 11 new volunteer sign ups at the event. We are grateful to Starbucks and Caribou Coffee for their donation of coffee, bagels and donuts for the event. It was wonderful to see 16 year old John R ankine and his grandmother walk the 3 mile stretch together! A big Thank you goes out to all our Detroit Walk supporters and a special mention goes out to our 10 volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Look out for our next Detroit Walk event being planned for May 2008.

Pittsburgh Action Center organized its third CRY Walk event on October 28 at Highland Park Trail. The event was supported by 100 online registrants, donors and walkers. It was wonderful to see 30 high school students walk for child rights! We thank Arati Chandrashekar, Satyajit Rao, Mrunal & Vikram Rawal for thier long standing support to the CRY Pittsburgh chapter. We also thank Amar Tiparthy, Technology People Inc for sponsoring the Walk event. And our special thank you to our 12 volunteers who worked day and night to make this event a success.

Lexington Action Centre had to cancel the event due to inclement weather which was disappointing for the volunteers who worked on organizing the event. We would like to express our gratitude to the volunteer group for supporting CRY America and also thank everybody who continued to support the event through the online registration and pledge drive.

Boston Action Center held its popular Walk event on August 25 at the Minuteman Trail Park in Cambridge . The event was supported by 70 walkers and raised approx $7000. We had 3 new volunteer sign ups at the event. We are grateful to all our supporters, specially our 15 volunteers who made this event possible. We would also like to thank the Netsap group a walkers and Deloitte for sponsoring this event.

Bay Area Action Center organized its 4th CRY Walk event on June 24 at the Shoreline Park in Mountain View . This event is a popular way for concerned individuals to express their support for child rights.

South California Action Center organized CRY America Walk 2007 on October 6, 2007 at the scenic Santa Monica Ocean Front Walk. The event was sponsored by Symantec Corporation and Brilliant Global Inc. Annapurna Cuisine, Culver City sponsored tasty snacks and water bottles and Odwalla sponsored energy bars for the event.
 
The event was supported by over 50 online donors and walkers and raised $3800. A big thank you goes out to our event sponsors, donors and supporters. Neha, Nithin, Sakshi, Kishi, Archana, Sanmeet, Bobby, Priya, Anusha, Iyaps and Rosh – thanks for raising awareness about child rights and organizing the walk event successfully. Priya’s contribution of the pretty henna tattoos at the event were much appreciated.
