FAQsBay Area Walk for Child Rights 2008
The Bay Area Walk 
event was held on June 15, 2008 at the Shoreline Park in Mountain View. It was an exciting day with over 400 people attending the event and 22 teams participating. Our congratulations to the winners of the run - Jose Pina Sr (10KM Run Male overall), Chithkala Jayaraman (10KM Run Female overall), Jose Pina Jr. (5KM Run Male Overall), Maura Dudley (5KM Run Female overall), Kaushal Rao (3KM Male) and Sheetal Rao (3KM Female). Not only did children participate and compete in a special 3KM Kids event, around 40 children also participated in the event and enjoyed the three legged race, sack race, lime-in-a-spoon and relay race activities which were specially organized for them for kids from different age groups! A big thank you goes out to everyone who supported this event, sponsors- VINA, Naked Juice, Best Graphics Inc. and Mobius Financial and especially to the volunteers who gave their time, skills and resources to make this event a tremendous success!
Bharath Sundararaman, CRY America Bay Area volunteer, shared: "400 people, 22 teams, 40 children and 4 different walk/run events: the walk event was a dream come true! This event stood apart in its own right for one big reason - the spotlight was on the Children. They competed in the race, participated in all the fun activities, volunteered for the raffle, kept our face painting and balloon-walas busy and reminded us of our very goal - to give the gift of childhood to underprivileged children, irrespective of caste, creed, race or religion..to stand up for child rights!"
