Manassas Park Action Center

Action Center Name: Manassas Park - George Mason University

Background
Started in August 2004, this new addition to the CRY America family works in the Manassas Park, Centreville, and the Clifton area. Besides being new, the core volunteer group is relatively young - college students.

Activities in 2004

• Organizing awareness stalls at the community temples during their special events and at numerous holiday celebrations, musical programs/concerts.


• Business for CRY America - Ensuring the local business community pledges to donate a certain amount of money to CRY America every year/month.


• Coalition work with Amnesty International U.S.A and their children’s network.


• A Bhangra Night


• Organizing a host of speakers at the high school or library; to further educate the public on children’s rights.
