Background
Chicago Action Centre was started in January 2005 with the view to create awareness about CRY’s efforts around the Chicagoland area.

Activities in 2005

• May 31 - "Art for Children" Charity Event: This was organized by NetIP Chicago in conjunction with CRY America Chicago Action Center at the Walsh Gallery. It was a great success!!! We received a tremendous response and had a house full literally. Attendees showed a lot of interest in CRY America’s efforts in the area of child rights and also showed a willingness to volunteer their time and skills in this movement. In fact we had people who volunteered on the spot for our activities and used the opportunity to sell cards too. NetIP made a donation of $1200 that was raised from the event to CRY America Chicago.


• Jul 31 - Stall at Greater Chicago Summerfest :The CRY America Chicago booth at the summerfest successfully spread the word about upcoming events, signed up many new volunteers, established contacts and identified potential sponsors for CRY America Walk 2005. A sale of cards was held to raise funds.


• Aug 20 - Club with CRY america @ Transit -1431 Lake St, Chicago, IL, 60607 between 9:00pm - 5:00am. Mention CRY America at the door and pay only $10 as cover charge. This goes towards funding CRY America supported projects. A Special Marquee lounge is reserved for CRY America guests. Take a free CRY greeting card home!


• Oct 8 - CRY America Walk 2005 for child rights.
