Age 7 - Starting housework
Age 15 - Finishing school

From working in her home to graduating, Anita’s journey stands for the lasting change brought about by tackling the real issues that prevent children from getting their rights.

Having done that successfully, at 16, she leads the children’s parliament at district level and continues to discuss education, health and child labor issues and seek all round development. Anita’s dream is to do a teachers training course and become a teacher. Anita’s own words to the Divisional Commissioner, “If children are given proper opportunities, we can do anything!”

CRY America believes that all children are equal – that the Girl child is a child first and that gender is merely descriptive. She has a right to be free, happy and develop to her full potential. Together – let’s make the dreams of children like Anita come true!
