Vol. 24, November 2012

Dear CRY America supporter,

Some of our best childhood memories are unforgettable - the first day of school, writing on the first page of a new notebook, new pencil boxes, new school uniforms, laughing, playing, even getting punished with friends and sharing tiffin boxes at break-time - going to school has given us all such rich experiences. Many of the successes we enjoy today are due to the education we have received. Yet for thousands of children in India, these are memories they cannot make. Because they cannot go to school or have dropped out from school. No school buildings, no teachers, irregular teaching, no separate toilets for girls are some realities that push children out of school.

In 9 years, with your support, CRY America has ensured that 1089 public schools have been activated, 466 villages have 100% enrollment and 351 schools have 100% retention today and thousands of children have been given education opportunities. But, we still have a long way to go.

Take the Pledge to make Education a reality for children - "like" the CRY America facebook page as an affirmation of your commitment that every child goes to school and has their own happy childhood memories. Once you like the facebook page, you will get regular updates on the projects you have supported, children's lives you have changed and on-going campaigns. On 11/21/2012, balloons will be released by CRY in Mumbai as a symbolic gesture of our collective pledge. For every 100 likes, one balloon will be released on behalf of CRY America supporters. Like our facebook page and let's work together to make education a reality for all children.

With best wishes,

Shefali Sunderlal

Impact of your support
Rathnam Venkat We began our journey 9 years back, driven by a desire to right the many wrongs that underprivileged children are subjected to. And with your support, today in our 10th year, we can proudly say that we have impacted the lives of 411,359 children living across 2,254 villages and communities.

Your support has helped children like Sheetal and Romita go to school instead of working or being married off. Children like Riku who fought limitations of her disability and now lives a happier childhood with dignity, all thanks to you. Take a look at how our journey has progressed so far, the projects you have supported, the events and celebrations you have been a part of.
