Dear Friend,

Thousands of children across CRY America supported Projects have been able to lead a happy and secure childhood because of the support received from donors and volunteers like you.

Thank you for supporting the Stay in School Campaign for the Girl Child which raised $39,000 and enabled hundreds of girls to go to school. The Seattle Uphaar Dinner, Alabama Viswaprem Dinner, New York CRYket, 100 Years of Bollywood events and CRY Holi are a testament to the belief that "Change is possible because I will make it possible".

Check out the video showcasing the work of Project RJSS (Rashtriya Jharkhand Seva Sanstha) which you have enabled. Tuntun from the remote village of Dhab in Jharkhand enjoys going to school, an opportunity he would have been denied had it not been for your support. Thus far we have enabled 324,368 children like Tuntun to go to schools, 177,814 children have been immunized, 955,444 births registered and 450,800 children's lives irreversibly transformed.

Do join us for the upcoming CRY Walks, New York Dinner and other events in your city. Your continued support gives us the strength to work towards greater heights.

With best wishes,

Shefali Sunderlal

Project Impact Story

Tuntun Kumar hails from village Dhab, Jharkhand (India). This 13 year old, the youngest of 6 siblings studied till Class 4 but soon dropped out because he had to accompany his parents who frequently travelled in search of work to support the family.

Vipin, who works with CRY America supported Project Rashtriya Jharkhand Seva Sansthan (RJSS) heard of this and along with other community members began talking to Tuntun's parents about the importance of his education. Their fears of mounting expenses of sending the little boy to school were put to rest. Not only would he get an education free of cost, he would also get nutritious mid day meals, uniforms and books at no cost. The relieved parents re-enrolled Tuntun in school. Happy to go to school, Tuntun is now studying in class 6.
