40% of India's population is below the age of 18 years which at 400 million is the world's largest child population. Getting deep into the issue is the only way to bring about lasting change.

• 25% of girl children do not survive to beyond their 15th birthday.
• 17 million children in India work as per official estimates. Many work to help their families because the adults do not have appropriate employment and income thus forfeiting schooling and opportunities to play and rest.
  

Let's unravel the issues to address the root causes and bring about change.

We as Indians have to recognise that children are citizens of today and not investments for the future; the time for the State to prioritise child rights is now!

Child Rights and You (CRY) asks:

• The State to make children the focal point and touchstone of every policy and plan made for India.
• The State to include voices of marginalised parents and communities when making policy and plans for their children, them being naturally linked.
