If life is a race, some children start last. Millions of India’s children are deprived of their basic human rights – to food, water, healthcare and education. Child Rights and You (CRY) America works to raise awareness and funds to support underprivileged children in India as well as the U.S. (through Boys and Girls Club of America).
I have participated in the Minneapolis CRY 5K Run for Child Rights since the inaugural event in 2008. This will be my third year of participating and my first at attempting to raise additional funds. This cause touches my heart not only because underprivileged communities are empowered to affect change for children but also because through these efforts many children will have the opportunity to learn, laugh, play and enjoy their childhood.
Even small donations can make a big difference:
A Coffee shop Latte or Mocha ($4) = A child's meal for a month
A movie with popcorn and soda ($20) = A child's education for a year
An evening at the local mall ($100) = Five children's education, health and food for a year or assuring a child of food, medical care and education for five years
Please consider a donation in any amount to help towards my fundraising goal.
