According to the New York Times, it is estimated that about 42.5% of the children in India suffer from malnutrition in India. The World Bank, citing estimates made by the World Health Organization, states "that about 49 per cent of the world's underweight children, 34 per cent of the world's stunted children and 46 per cent of the world's wasted children, live in India."
The cause for such condition is not only poverty but inaccessibility of health and medical services in rural areas, especially in the tribal belts and desert areas.
On August 29, I walk for these CHILDREN.
I walk in anticipation that they will receive the basic component needed for survival- Food.
I walk so that when needed, they get adequate health and medical services.
I walk with the hope that these children get a chance to live life.
I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do." - Helen Keller
